NOANO – REGENERATIVE ARCHITECTURE
The development of human habitats has long been synonymous with the destruction of nature—a process that degrades biodiversity and negatively impacts both mental and physical health. This conflict presents a critical dilemma: how do we design living environments that not only cease to harm the natural world but actively regenerate it?
NOANO – Regenerative Architecture is a multidisciplinary proposal, coordinated by Valéan, that addresses this question. Developed for the Luxembourg Pavilion at the 2025 Venice Architecture Biennale, the project confronts the need for a paradigm shift in how we conceive, build, and inhabit our world. Rooted in 'whole systems thinking,' NOANO synthesises insights from architecture, law, science, and art to provide practical pathways toward environments that repair ecosystems and restore human well-being. The proposal was distinguished as one of the three final nominees selected to represent Luxembourg.
