THREE PRINCIPLES
Many of the significant global problems we face today find their origin in a common source: the places in which we live are failing to satisfy human needs in a balanced way. The models on which most cities, towns, and villages are based have become outdated. They were developed for a world that no longer exists and are fundamentally out of tune with modern life, contemporary needs, and today's environmental imperatives.
In his book, Three Principles for a New Model of Locations, François de la Caffinière confronts these root causes by presenting a new framework for developing human environments. This model is built on three key concepts: Restinctive Design, which centres the creation of places around human needs; Decentralised Location Brands, which use shared values to build global networks of unique places; and Overall Inventory Profitability, an economic system that prioritises a long-term, unified creative vision over fractionalised, short-term gains. Published in 2018, the book offers a strategic blueprint for creating human environments fit for the 21st century.
